For owners Sinead and Paul Burley, Eglinton’s Ethical Weigh is more than just a shop. It’s a chance to rethink your lifestyle, and live more sustainably.
Customers can cut out packaging waste by bringing old containers to weigh out fresh organic produce, and kitchen cupboard essentials such as pasta, rice, coffee beans, and even homemade peanut butter from an in-store machine. You can also grab vegan cakes, just-baked bread, protein balls and energy-boosting juice shots, plus locally produced toiletries and household items.
There are great seasonal daily specials made by experienced chef Paul (who is also a beekeeper – don’t forget to grab a jar of his native Irish honey too!), and yoga sessions in the studio next door, taught by Sinead. “We see Ethical Weigh as a hub, a different way of living,” she says. “We are reducing waste and taking care of the planet.”
