Primrose on the Quay
There’s no better place to watch the world go by than Primrose on the Quay, along the River Foyle. With its chic Parisian décor and twinkling fairy lights by night, Primrose prides itself on fresh local produce, made from scratch and with utmost attention to detail. Step inside and you are greeted by an amazing array of delicately made patisserie and homely, fresh-from-the-oven traditional bakes made with recipes passed down from owner Melanie Breslin’s grandmother.
The food menu is just as appealing – breakfast and brunch options include fluffy, double buttermilk pancakes and local Grants bacon, and a traditional cooked breakfast featuring Tirkeeran black pudding crafted by Melanie’s husband, co-owner and professional butcher Ciaran. Later in the day, there’s Donegal fisherman’s chowder with melt in the mouth homemade wheaten bread, cider-battered Atlantic haddock and chips, and more.
