Scarpello and Co

Scarpello and Co really know their dough. Husband and wife Kemal and Rachel have spent a decade perfecting their woodfired sourdough bread and pizzas, and that passion is palpable as soon as you enter the Buncrana Road bakehouse.

You’ll find it in the stacks of delicious sourdough loaves, 72 hours in the making (and stocked by a number of other LegenDerry eateries); in the Neapolitan-style pizzas, blast-cooked at 500-degrees and topped with seasonal, local produce; and in the fresh, still-warm-from-the-oven cookies, brownies and pastries.

You’ll have to be quick to nab one of Scarpello’s famous cinnamon swirls though – these sticky sensations sell out in no time.

There’s also a Drive-Through at the back of the bakehouse, perfect for ordering a quick fix of carbs or caffeine. And, if you’re lucky, you might just leave with some of Kemal’s own sourdough starter to use at home.
